OPERATION

The Hellenic Water Association (HWA) brings together a number of University faculty members, researchers, water professionals and managers throughout Greece. This wide array of experts brings together a vast cumulative experience and scientific background, whereas it gives access to state-of-the-art facilities and the latest water resource issues.

The HWA aspires to contribute to the environmental growth of the wider region. It hopes to serve as a role model in terms of effectiveness and transparency.
Moreover the HWA envisions to play a significant role in both the effective treatment, disposal and reuse of water resources at a regional, national and international scale.

In order to achieve its mission, The Hellenic Water Association (HWA) will:

organize, promote and support conferences, conventions, symposia, lectures, seminars, exhibitions, workshops, meetings and other relevant events at regional, nationwide or international level

publish and distribute proceedings of the above events, newsletters, information bulletins, scientific and technical journals, books or other publications 

operate a library and provide access to modern electronic media

operate and exploit computer databases 

offer consultancy services on issues related to water and wastewater management activities 

develop and maintain relationships, interaction and cooperation with other national or international organizations with activities of common interest

launch / enhance scientific research through participation and/or funding of research projects

promote cooperation with research and educational institutions, industries, engineers and scientists, in order to develop new technologies or to improve recently developed technologies associated with water and wastewater management
